Writing Challenge Day 8 of 30

Peter grimaced and said, “He said he’d be here by three.”

“It’s only five past. Let’s give him another few minutes,” assured Vivien.

Peter threw his hands up in despair. “But I’m sick of always waiting for him.”

Trying to seem calm, Vivien put a hand on Peter’s shoulders. “We’re not always waiting for him.”

“How can you say that? The past three times he’s been late”

“Well, okay, maybe,” Vivien suggested softly, “but lets just give him five more minutes today. Okay?”

“I suppose. It’s just going to mess everything up…,” said Peter, still grimacing.

“What will?”

“If he’s late again.”

Finally unable to hold his annoyance, Vivien said, “Peter, just be quiet. If you keep talking like this, someone will hear us.”
