Wet. Again. He runs under a small tree by the trashcan and tries to shake the water off. The wind was blowing too strong though. The rain pelted him from one side then another. He had no chance to get dry, but there was no other shelter in sight.

Should he take his chances and make a run for it? Maybe there’s a better shelter not far off. But what if there isn’t? He would just be using up precious energy.

He sits down under the tree to contemplate his fate. How did he end up here? How much longer can he survive like this? What will happen to his body if he dies here? The one good thing about the rain is that no one is chasing him. In the downpour, people can’t be bothered to be annoyed by a dog.
